The Assessment of Your Hotel’s Performance

Running a hotel is a lucrative business. And just like any other business, it is important that you have a good grasp of how your establishment is performing. Gauging the performance of your hotel will help you come up with plans that will improve your business in the future – or sooner than you think.

While some entrepreneurs think that such assessments can be technical, they do not always have to be (although being technical is important). If you want to learn more how you can assess the performance of your hotel, here are some tips that you should keep in mind.

Conduct a survey

This is the very first thing you need to do. You can get a cue and insights directly from your guests by having them answer your survey. If you are targeting returning guests, you can place a survey on your booking site.

To target first-time guests, you can leave a survey form in their room, which they can answer before they leave.

Observe carefully

It is important that you observe your hotel from the perspective of a customer. Visit a random room and see if everything inside it makes the stay of the guest comfortable. Is the bathroom clean? Are the TV, mini bar fridges, and the Internet working properly?

If there are some problems with the utilities, it is possible that these are what irking the guests.

Knowing your processes

You should time the duration of your hotel’s services – from restaurant to room service. If it is too slow, you need to improve or streamline the process of your staff. Make it a point that your hotel service is timely and fast. See to it that your service staff is nice and respectful.

It is your goal to make your hotel guests happy. Keep the tips above in mind to make more guests who are willing to go back to your hotel.
